Background
In the face of escalating climate change risks, resilient and intelligent infrastructure systems have become critical to ensuring the safety, adaptability, and sustainability of our urban environments. Building on this urgent global agenda, this symposium brings together leading scholars and experts from Utokyo and PolyU to explore strategic approaches for climate-resilient infrastructure and smart city development.
The event is jointly organized by the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies (III) of The University of Tokyo and the Otto Poon Research Institute for Climate-Resilient Infrastructure (RICRI) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It serves as a platform for international collaboration, multidisciplinary knowledge exchange, and forward-looking discussion on integrating data science, AI, and engineering innovations into resilient urban systems.
Through keynote speeches, expert sharing, panel discussion, and interactive networking, the symposium aims to foster joint research initiatives, promote talent exchange, and explore future opportunities in the design and implementation of sustainable, technology-enhanced infrastructure solutions.
