今秋、東京大学本郷キャンパスにてテクノロジー × アートの展覧会「第20回東京大学制作展」が開催されます。本展覧会は、広く一般の方に技術を親しんで頂く接点となるべく、学際情報学府などの学生たちが、研究と並行してアート作品の制作に取り組んでいます。毎年、日々研究で培っている技術を芸術として昇華させた、個性豊かな作品が並びます。

We are holding an exhibition named “iii Exhibition 20” this upcoming November. Widely open for public, this exhibition gives an opportunity for everyone to familiarize themselves with the latest technology and research. Every year, students mainly from the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies and Engineering present unique artworks, which are created based on technologies cultivated from their research.

コンセプト (Concept)
“Dest-logy REBUILD”

いつのまにか、みんながパソコンを使っていた。
いつのまにか、みんながスマホを持っていた。
テクノロジーはわたしたち人類が進む道を、たしかに決定づけてきました。
その分岐点で、もしもわたしたちが別の道を進んでいたら…？
今ある「あたりまえ」を一度壊したら、そこにはもう一つの世界線がきっとある。
なかったはずの世界に、あなたは何を見るでしょうか。
本展では、テクノロジーを用いたアートでもう一つの世界線を新たに作り出し、提示します。

”Dest-logy REBUILD”

Before we knew it, everyone was using computers.
Before we knew it, everyone had a smartphone.

Technology has seemingly decided the path of human progress.
But, at this turning point, what if we choose another path?

If we consciously destroy the existing “normalcy,” we’ll surely create another kind of world.
What might you see in a world that has never existed？

In this exhibit, we will show you another kind of world through art that uses technology.
