Details: An earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck off Nepal’s capital Kathmandu on 25th April 2015, resulting in damage of disastrous magnitude, including the deaths of 9000 people. Several social problems resurfaced as a result of this earthquake, one of them being the issue of Tibetan refugees living in dire conditions in Nepal due to them being unregistered officially in the country. There are more than 300 thousand Tibetans seeking refuge in India through Nepal. This movie illustrates the story of a little boy named Olo who left Tibet for India, through Nepal. The reality is that not many people know about the situation of these Tibetan refugees living below the poverty line in India or Nepal as it is seldom reported in the mass media.

During this earthquake, the Tibetan refugee camps and towns in the mountainous regions were heavily hit, but relief efforts to these areas such as the delivery of emergency supplies were delayed for many days. The stagnant and sluggish post- disaster recovery in these regions brought to our attention the predicament of Tibetan refugees.
In other words, this disaster has presented to us existing social problems in a different form. This movie would provide an opportunity for us to understand and think about the social backgrounds of the disaster stricken areas and problems that already existed before the disaster.
