「Human AI Communication」

As we start kicking off the upcoming 2024 NCCU-SNU-UTokyo Joint Symposium, it becomes imperative to bring artificial intelligence (AI) into the spotlight. AI has impacted people’s communication and workplace as we see that humans have started to collaborate with AI to create content. AI also has been serving as an interface facilitating various processes of communication such as chatbots, customer services, and agents for product development. How do humans work with AI for better productivity? How do humans trust and perceive the transparency of AI being an agent in the communication processes? How can social scientists work to build a reliable and responsible AI for our society? We are passionate to discuss and explore all these intricate dynamics between artificial intelligence (AI) and human interaction; hence, this year’s conference theme is AI-Human Communication.

Call for Presenters
Annual NCCU-SNU-UTokyo International Symposium
“Human AI Communication”

The University of Tokyo has co-organized international symposia in collaboration with Seoul National University in Korea and National Chengchi University in Taiwan for nearly three decades. This year’s symposium will take place at National Chengchi University on October 17 and 18, 2024. Each year, graduate students and faculty members from the three universities present their research at the symposium. Through the presentation and discussion of various themes, we hope that you will be able to deepen your own research. We look forward to receiving your application!

In preparation for the symposium, “International Conference Presentation” course (offered by Lecturer David C. Buist, during the Friday 3rd and 4th periods in the S2 term) will provide guidance on writing an abstract and giving presentations in English. Students who want to participate in the symposium are strongly encouraged to take the course (although it is not mandatory). Please note, however, that enrolling in the course does not guarantee that you will be selected as a presenter at the symposium.
