『さよならテレビ』(東海テレビ) 上映会Screening of “Sayonara-TV” (Tokai Television)
2019年1月26日、ワークショップ「テレビの内部をさらけ出す〜東海テレビ『さよならテレビ』〜」を、丹羽美之研究室（テレビアーカイブ・プロジェクト）と日本マス・コミュニケーション学会（若手ワーキンググループ）で共催しました。
テレビアーカイブ・プロジェクトではこれまでも、テレビ番組を上映し、参加者全員で語り合う連続ワークショップ「みんなでテレビを見る会」を開催してきました。今回は日本マス・コミュニケーション学会との合同企画として、2018年9月に東海地区で放送されて反響を呼んだ『さよならテレビ』を上映しました。
『さよならテレビ』は、多くの優れたドキュメンタリー番組を制作し、劇場公開してきた東海テレビが、テレビ局そのものにカメラを向けた問題作です。「働き方改革」で揺れる報道部を舞台に、人手不足解消のためにやってきた若い派遣社員、権力監視の衰退を嘆く記者歴25年の外部スタッフ、番組降板を告げられるアナウンサーなど、テレビ局の内部事情を生々しく描いています。
上映後は片野利彦さん（日本民間放送連盟）の司会進行により、ディレクターの圡方宏史さんと松山秀明さん（関西大学、学府OB）のトーク、さらには会場の参加者による活発な質疑応答や議論が行われました。会場から「テレビ局の内部を暴くといいながら、都合の悪い部分はカットしたのではないか？」と聞かれると、圡方さんは「もともとは、権力監視といったマスコミの正義より視聴率獲得を優先する、『マスゴミ』としてのテレビを撮りたかった。しかし、思った以上に職員が真面目でその狙いは果たせず、一番『マスゴミ』的だったのは撮っている自分たちだったと気づいた」と語っていました。
会場は立ち見が出るほどの盛況で、熱気に包まれました。研究者、学生、制作者、一般市民など、さまざまな参加者が集まり、現在のテレビに対する考えや思い、テレビ再生に向けた期待を語り合う貴重な機会となりました。

A workshop utilizing television program archives was held on January 26th. In this workshop, a TV program titled “Sayonara-TV (Goodbye-TV)” was screened followed by a discussion with guest speakers and the audience.
“Sayonara-TV” is a documentary program which discloses inside workings of Tokai Television. It was broadcasted in Tokai district on September 2nd, 2018. A director of Tokai Television focuses on working conditions of staff in Tokai Television, making this work a self-criticism not only of Tokai Television but also of how people work at TV stations in general. It attracted public attention after its broadcast.
We invited Mr. Koji Hijikata, the director of “Sayonara-TV” as a panelist. Mr. Hijikata talked about the aim, response, and self-assessment of the program. He said, “I initially wanted to film television as “massgomi (rubbish mass-media)” prioritizing audience ratings rather than the true purpose of mass-media, which is to be a watchdog over power. However, this failed because people were more earnest than I thought, and that made me realize that we were the ones who were thinking and acting like “massgomi” the most.”
The workshop continued for about three and half hours. We were able to have a lively discussion.
