ホームカミングデイ2022Homecoming Day 2022
2022年10月15日（土）、東京大学ホームカミングデイ・トークセッション「危機のコミュニケーション／コミュニケーションの危機」を武田先端知ビル武田ホールにて開催しました。大学本部の企画「2022年度女子中高生向け進路選択支援」とも連動した本イベントには、情報学環と関わりのあるメディアやコミュニケーション、ジャーナリズムの実務の現場にいる方々と、情報学環教育部の研究生が登壇し、3年ぶりの対面開催とオンライン配信をあわせたハイブリッド形式で行われました。
山内祐平学環長による開会挨拶から始まったこのトークセッションでは、関谷直也准教授の司会のもと、まずは「危機のコミュニケーション」というテーマで議論が繰り広げられました。冒頭に情報学環客員研究員でフリージャーナリストの有働由美子さんが若者に防災情報をどうやったらうまく伝えられるか悩んでいることを、ウクライナでの現地取材の様子を交えながら話されたり、情報学環教育部研究生で現役のJR東日本の車掌でもある福井桃子さんからは、車内で事件事故が起こった場合に車内放送で乗客にどう呼びかけるかについての紹介があるなど、さまざまな事例が出る中でのディスカッションでした。
後半は、「コミュニケーションの危機」とそれをどう乗り越えることができるのかについて、20代の登壇者たちのリアルな声を踏まえながら意見が交わされました。情報学環教育部OGでありTBSテレビで活躍中の小林祥子さんは、マスメディア業界では情報が若者に届いていないという危機感があることを話されました。有働さんも「オールドメディア」とも呼ばれるマスメディア側から感じる現場の危機感を共有しました。一方、情報学環教育部研究生の足立あゆみさんや森川大誠さん、そして福井さんたちからは、SNSを使って自ら情報を選べる時代に、マスメディアというフィルターを通す必要があるのかは疑問だという趣旨の意見が聞かれ、マスメディアの送り手と受け手の感覚のズレが生じていることが浮き彫りになった議論でした。
今回のイベントは対面会場への参加が約80名、オンライン配信では常時60〜70名の方々の参加があり、盛況のうちに目黒公郎副学環長の閉会の挨拶で幕を閉じました。

On October 15th, 2022, III/GSII hosted a talk session for the University of Tokyo Homecoming Day under the title “Communication Under a State of Crisis / Crisis of Communication.” The event was held in conjunction with a university-wide public relations program aimed at supporting the career choices of female junior and senior high-school students. The talk session was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online streaming. Panelists included people in the field of media, communication, and journalism, and students of the III Undergraduate Research Student Program.
After the opening address by Prof. Yuhei Yamauchi, Dean of III, the five speakers engaged in a discussion moderated by Associate Prof. Naoya Sekiya. In the first half of the talk sesson, the discussion centered on issues regarding communication during times of crisis. Yumiko Udo, visiting researcher at the III and a freelance journalist, introduced her concerns regarding how to provide disaster prevention information to young people, while sharing what she had noticed during her recent reporting in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Momoko Fukui, a student of the III undergraduate research student program and also a train conductor at JR East, introduced how to call out to passengers on the train in case of an incident/accident.
In the latter half of the event, the panelists exchanged their views on information from mass media, focusing on the real voices of the younger panelists. Sachiko Kobayashi of TBS(Tokyo Broadcasting System) and former student of the III undergraduate research student program, said people in the mass media industry are gravely concerned about how information is not reaching the younger generation, a view shared by Udo. However, student panelists Ayumi Adachi, Daisei Morikawa and Fukui, questioned the need to rely on mass media when they can easily access information via social media, revealing the discrepancy between the views of the sender and the receiver of mass media information.
The event was attended by about 80 people in person and 60~70 people via online streaming and ended with a closing remark by Prof. Kimiro Meguro, Vice Dean of III.
