令和元年度大学院学際情報学府 秋季 学位記授与式GSII 2019 Autumn Graduation Ceremony

9月13日、暑さも一段落し、秋めいた涼やかな気候の中、福武ホールラーニングシアターに於いて、学際情報学府の秋季学位記授与式が行われました。故郷から駆けつけたご家族、苦楽を共にした友人や教員に見守られながら、修士課程9名、博士課程3名の修了者に、越塚学府長より学位記が授与され、その後学府長と前田専攻長より祝辞が送られました。

学府長からは、情報技術の革新が急速に進行する現代において、多様な分野において学際的な研究が行われる学府での研究は貴重であり、修了後も学府および東京大学のコミュニティを活用してそれぞれの分野で活躍するよう、力強いエールが送られました。専攻長からは、「大学院は最低で最高の場所」として、好奇心のままに心ゆくまで研究ができる環境や、学府で築いた人間関係は一生の宝だとして、自らのやってきたことに誇りを持って進んで行くよう、暖かなエールが送られました。

その後、修士課程修了者のYang YueさんとMirdjalilova Dilnozaさんより答辞があり、いずれも学際的な環境で知的好奇心を刺激された研究生活を振り返りながら、お世話になった教員や家族、学友への感謝の気持ちが、晴れやかな笑顔で述べられました。最後に在校生代表として、Frederic Julien Nicolas Seraphineさんより、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ修了生たちへ、それぞれのこれから進む新しい進路を力強く後押しする賛辞が送られました。授与式の後は写真撮影が行われ、感謝の言葉やフラッシュが行き交い、新しい門出を祝う和やかな雰囲気を残しながら閉式となりました。

On September 13th, the Autumn Graduation Ceremony of the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies was held at Fukutake Hall. Nine graduating students from the Master’s program and three graduating students from the Ph.D. program received their degree certificates from Dean Koshizuka in front of an eager audience of family members and fellow students.

Dean Koshizuka and Head of Department Maeda both delivered speeches. Dean Koshizuka emphasized the great importance of interdisciplinary research at the GSII in the present age of rapid development in information technology. He delivered a strong message of encouragement to the graduates, urging them to continue ties with the graduate school and university after graduation as they pursue activities in their respective chosen fields. Head of Department Maeda spoke about the life-long benefits of the research environment and human ties built while studying at the GSII. He urged the graduates to take pride in their achievements and maintain a sense of intellectual curiosity.

In response, two representatives of the Master’s graduates, Yang Yue and Mirdjalilova Dilnoza, addressed the gathering. Both mentioned how the interdisciplinary environment of the GSII stimulated their intellectual curiosity and warmly thanked their former teachers, colleagues and friends. The ceremony ended with a congratulatory speech from Frederic Seraphine as a representative of the continuing students, expressing support for the future activities of the graduates. The celebratory mood continued after the ceremony while photographs were being taken and the participants exchanged warm words of thanks.
