ヒューマンオーグメンテーション学（ソニー寄付講座）シンポジウム「Augmenting Creativity: AI x 人間時代の創造性」が、2019年3月29日に開催されました。創造性という、人間の特徴的な能力について、これにAI技術が組み合わされた時代にどう変化するのか、ということをテーマにしたイベントでした。
招待講演の１件目は、株式会社Qosmoで2019年度から慶應大学でも教鞭をとられる徳井直生さんから、「独創性のサーフィンーAI x 音楽の実践を通して」というタイトルでこれまで取り組まれてきたテクノロジを活用した音楽表現や、人と音楽と技術を組み合わせる面白さなどが紹介されました。また、２件目の株式会社スクエアエニックスの三宅陽一郎さんからは「人工知能にゲームを作らせる」というタイトルで、ゲーム制作におけるAI技術の進化や、AI技術と哲学に関して、興味深いお話がありました。また、寄付講座からは、味八木崇先生、暦本純一先生から、寄付講座の活動や、テーマに関する最近の取り組みの紹介がありました。
後半は招待講演の2名の方と、暦本先生、味八木先生によるパネルディスカッションが行われました。今後の人間とAIが一体となった時の能力の拡張に関して議論が展開され、Human Augmentationという講座にふさわしいシンポジウムとなり、終了後の懇親会でも活発な議論が起きていました。

The 2019 Augmenting Creativity symposium was held on March 29, 2019 with the title “AI x Human Age Creativity”. The theme of the event was how the characteristic ability of human beings called creativity will change in an age when it is combined with AI technology.
The first invited talk, delivered by Nao Tokui of Qosmo, presented his previous projects on musical expression using technology and the fun of combining people, music and technology. In addition, Yoichiro Miyake of Square Enix Co., Ltd. featured an interesting story about the evolution of AI technology in actual game production, and AI technology and philosophy. Also, Takashi Miyaki and Jun Rekimoto introduced the activities of the Human Augmentation course and recent activities on the theme.
In the second half, a panel discussion was held by the two invited speakers, with Prof. Miyaki and Prof. Rekimoto. There was discussion on the extension of abilities in the future when human beings and AI become one. The symposium was very apt for a course called Human Augmentation. At the reception after the symposium, active discussions were held on human augmentation research.
