略歴

東京大学大学院農学生命科学研究科博士課程修了、博士(農学)。ワシントン大学客員研究員、
東京大学総合研究博物館助教、東京大学大学院農学生命科学研究科助教を経て、現在、東京大学大学院情報学環准教授。東京大学大学院農学生命科学研究科を兼任。

Biography

PhD in Agricultural and Life Sciences from the University of Tokyo in 2007. Visiting Researcher at University of Washington (2008-2009). Assistant Professor at the University Museum, the University of Tokyo (2009-2014). Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo (2014-2022). Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Interfaculty Information Studies and the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo since 2022.


海と川を移動して一生を送る回遊魚の研究をしています。長距離を旅するウナギやサケの行動生態は興味深く、人々の生活に根づいた生き物です。これらの資源量は近年減少しており、気候変動に対する回遊魚の環境応答や保全に関する研究を進めています。子どもたちに回遊魚の魅力を伝えるための絵本やWeb図鑑の制作にも取り組んでいます。

Mari Kuroki has studied life history and evolution of migratory fishes. She specializes in early life history, migratory diversity, and conservation of eels. She also focuses on ocean science education and has published many books such as “Eels on the Move (Tokai University Press)” and “Eels and Humans (Springer)” and created picture books for children, educational web contents, and academic exhibitions.
