学部横断型教育プログラム「メディアコンテンツ」は、東京大学横断型教育プログラムのひとつです。
東京大学横断型教育プログラムは、狭い専門知識だけでなく、新たな学問的課題に果敢に挑戦し、幅広い分野を横断していく柔軟な思考力を備えた「知的にタフな東大生」を育成するために開設された学際的・分野融合的な教育プログラムです。学部や大学院の枠組みを超えて実施されています。
現在開講されている横断型教育プログラムのなかでも、本教育プログラム「メディアコンテンツ」は、メディア上に流通するコンテンツの創造に関わる基礎教育と人材養成を目的として、最新のネットワークビジネスの動向などを踏まえた教育を行っています。「技術・創造」「文化・社会」「人間・心理」「総合」の分野からメディアコンテンツに関連する基礎科目を開講しています。
本教育プログラムは、東京大学の学部後期課程（3～4年生）を履修対象としていますが、大学院生の履修も可能です。必修科目や選択科目の区別はなく、各自の目的にあわせて履修できます。開講されている科目の中から、合計12単位以上を修得した学生に「プログラム修了証」を交付します（修了を目的とせずに、個別の科目のみを履修することも可能です）。
The Interdisciplinary Undergraduate “Media Content” Program is one of a number of inderdisciplinary programs at the University of Tokyo.
All these programs seek to fulfill the university’s goal of producing “academically tough students” with a flexible intellect capable of meeting challenges in a variety of fields, rather than being exclusively trained in a narrow specialization. Such programs are designed to transcend the division between undergaduate and graduate education.
The “Media Content” Program aims to provide basic education and human resource training in the field of digital contents creation for the new media, in response to the latest trends in the Internet business. The subjects taught cover the fields of “technology and creativity”, “culture and society”, “humanity and psychology”, in addition to comprehensive core courses.
This program is particularly designed for undergraduates in their final two years, but it is open to graduate students as well. There are no designated compulsory courses, and students are therefore able to pursue programs of learning tailored to their own individual objectives. Students completing at least 12 units in this program are awarded a “Certificate of Program Completion”. Courses can, however, be taken on an individual basis without any intension to complete the program.
