平成30年度大学院学際情報学府 入学式 ・ ガイダンスGSII Spring Entrance Ceremony & Entrance Guidance 2018
4月3日（火）、穏やかな春空のもと、福武ホールラーニングシアターにて学際情報学府の入学ガイダンスが行われ、2018年（平成30年度）4月に入学した修士、博士課程の大学院学生が出席しました。
午前・午後の２部構成でガイダンスが実施され、午前中は学際情報学府での学びに欠かせないECCS(Educational Campuswide Computing System)の講習会や学際情報学府が所有する様々な施設を巡る「学環ツアー」が実施されました。
午後からの入学式・ガイダンスにおいては、田中学府長より「情報」を中心とした学際融合の重要性について触れ、多様な各コースの紹介を交えながら祝辞が送られました。学府学生の特徴として、カリキュラムを通じて普段から異なる学問分野や研究領域の学生たちと密接に絶えず協同していることが、相手の研究や活動に対する「敬意」や「関心」を持つ姿勢を生むこと。その真摯な姿勢が異なる学問分野・研究領域との接着的な役割を果たし、新しい知識や知見を生み出す高い能力につながることから、今後新入生の活躍にも多いに期待している主旨のメッセージが送られました。また、学府での学生生活を進めるうえで「１人で解決しようとせず、多様な仲間と協力して新しい価値や知識を生み出してほしい」との言葉があり、新入生たちの熱心に聞き入る様子が見受けられました。
続いて、中尾専攻長からは、学生の「学際」研究への導入を後押しする内容や主要な講義について触れられ、特にリーディング大学院プログラムについて、奨学金だけでなく、学際情報学府に所属しながら異なる大学院研究科の研究分野に関わる貴重な機会であるので積極的に参加して欲しい主旨の紹介がありました。
続いて行われた教員紹介においては、各教員より暖かいメッセージが送られました。その他、図書や情報セキリュテイに関する事項など、今後の学生生活に関する重要な情報が伝えられました。

On April 3rd, an entrance ceremony and guidance session was held for students entering the Master’s and Ph.D. programs at the beginning of the 2018 academic year.
The morning was taken up with instruction on how to use the Educational Campuswide Computing System (ECCS) and a tour of the III facilities.
In the afternoon, the entrance ceremony began with an address by Dean Tanaka, emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the graduate school with reference to the diverse characteristics of each of the GSII’s programs. His message included an appeal for cooperation and mutual respect among students from different research fields as a way of achieving intellectual innovation. To quote from the speech, “Rather than trying to solve problems alone, I want you to create new values and knowledge by working together with your diverse colleagues.”
Prof. Nakao (Head of Department) then spoke about aspects of the curriculum designed to foster interdisciplinarity with particular reference to the Program for Leading Graduate Schools, which offers not only scholarships but also opportunities for study in other graduate schools even while enrolled in the GSII.
After this, each member of faculty introduced him/herself to the new students. The session concluded with information on matters important to student life, such as library usage and information security.
