河口 洋一郎 教授 定年退職（2018年3月31日）Retirement of Prof. Yoichiro Kawaguchi (on March 31st, 2018)
河口洋一郎先生は、2000年の設立当時から、情報学環・学際情報学府の研究教育を牽引されてきました。自己増殖する「グロース・モデル」、伝統芸能との融合「ジェモーション」による情感的な舞台空間のパフォーミング・アーツ、生命体から発想するロボティック立体造形などに取り組まれ、世界的CGアーティストとしてご活躍されてきました。在職中、ACM SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artist Award、芸術選奨文部科学大臣賞、紫綬褒章などを受章されました。永年に渡るご貢献に感謝申し上げます。

Prof. Kawaguchi has been a leading member of the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies and Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies since its foundation in the year 2000. He is a world renowned CG artist, whose works include the self-reproducing “Growth Model”, emotive stage works using “Gemotion” fusing with traditional performing arts, and robotic 3D productions modeled on living organisms. During his tenure, he received numerous awards, including the ACN SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artist Award, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Art Encouragement Prize, and the Medal with Purple Ribbon (Medal of Honour). We are very grateful to Prof. Kawaguchi for his many years of service to the Interfaculty Initiative.
